What If? (tap here to read the entire post)

In the forest, I have long noted that there is a kind of segregation that exists, and yet there is a harmonious oneness and openness throughout. It is mesmerizing. It is welcoming. Intriguing and Inviting. It seems that these visits always provoke a recurring thought. May I share a little ‘What if?’ with you?

What if we were to embrace a universal recognition that we live on one planet, and that we are one people? What if our only divisions were not harsh borders, but instead were composed of mutual respect for cultural differences? What if, instead of nations, we were to recognize cultural pockets with their proud distinguishing differences, but without the promotion of competitive national borders and myriad sovereignties? What if we were to develop a longing need for harmony instead of for division? What if our planet were to be our sovereign space? I’m not talking about world government, I’m talking about world cooperation, but yes, insistent cooperation.

Even though it’s probably not going to happen, what if we imagine that it could? What if we were to openly discuss the possibility of a radical social shift, not in who we really are, but in how we allow ourselves to be motivated? For over a decade, I have been sharing this ideal with friends, with audiences, through writing and public speaking, and I have learned that many hearts welcome and embrace positive dialogue. I am happy to meet with small or large groups for discussion. If interested, please contact me at aprinia.org.
